Georgia on horseback

In the saddle across Georgia — where the roads end and freedom begins

For several years now, we have been heading into the remote corners of Georgia — into mountain valleys, onto the ridges of the Caucasus, and into the semi-desert plains in the east of the country. And always in the saddle — on the backs of brave Georgian horses, born in the mountains and used to demanding terrain. Your horse here is not just a means of transport. It is your partner, your guide, and your connection to a landscape that will absorb you. In the rhythm of hoofbeats, you will discover places you otherwise couldn’t reach — wild mountains, empty plains, forgotten villages, and wide horizons beneath an endless sky.

We offer several types of expeditions:
In spring, we head to the green, blooming Vashlovani National Park, where the landscape resembles the Mongolian steppe or the canyons of Arizona (April). In summer, we go high into the mountains — to the legend-filled Khevsureti and the highland, poetic Tusheti (June–August).

Each journey is different — but it is always a real adventure where you carry freedom with you. You will experience a holiday that will be written into your heart and soul.

Tři jezdci ve Vashlovani

Vashlovani

In eastern Georgia, where the Caucasus fades into the distance and the land opens into a wide, endless landscape, lies Vashlovani — a forgotten corner that resembles the Mongolian steppes or the sandstone landscapes of Arizona.

Vashlovani is about endless horizons, where steppe turns into semi-desert. Here you ride freely — along old shepherd trails, among rock labyrinths and open plains. Prepare for a very unusual landscape with deeply cut sandstone valleys, green meadows, blooming savannas, and solitary pistachio trees.

It is a region where you will hardly find any human settlements and where silence sounds louder than any noise. Hundreds of birds of prey live here, as well as wolves, coyotes, and foxes. We travel completely outside civilization.

Khevsureti

Khevsureti is a land of steep cliffs and deeply cut mountain valleys in the Caucasus, not far from the border with Chechnya. Khevsureti is harsh and honest. Just like its people — descendants of ancient warriors who once wore armor and swore loyalty to their own leaders and their gods. The villages here resemble fortresses, and stone towers tell stories of heroes and myths. A journey to Khevsureti is a journey into the Middle Ages.

Look forward to blooming meadows, breathtaking views, perhaps even snow on the peaks, overnight stays in a medieval tower, and the harsh, medieval life of the mountain people. For centuries, they have lived in an almost unchanged way in villages that are cut off from the world for six months of the year and can only be reached by helicopter.

Tusheti

A remote corner of northeastern Georgia, reached by a single road over the Atsunta Pass at an altitude of more than 2,800 meters. It is considered one of the most dangerous roads in Europe and is passable only from late May to early October. Beyond the pass, another world begins.

Imagine a landscape where green mountain pastures roll like sea waves under the sharp sun, where stone villages cling to mountain slopes as if they had always been there — and they have. A highland plateau separated from the surrounding world by incredibly steep mountains, ridges with breathtaking views, as well as sheer cliffs and wild mountain rivers. Everywhere you look, dozens of horses graze freely.

In the evening, we are welcomed by family-run guesthouses, with traditional Tushetian cuisine and traditional Tushetian hospitality.
